The lazy quiet was interrupted when the door creaked open, revealing a middle-aged man in a suit. His face was tense as he stepped forward and placed a photograph on her desk—a rare cat with striking black-and-white fur, resembling a panda.
“This is Panda,” he said, his voice taut with urgency. “I need you to find her.” Aine raised an unimpressed eyebrow, clearly unenthusiastic about the task. Before she could refuse, her eager assistant Kidori leaned in and whispered, “We haven’t had any cases lately.” Reluctantly swayed by the reminder of their dry spell, Aine let out a resigned sigh and agreed to take on the job. Grumbling under her breath, she grabbed her coat and headed out into the bustling city streets. Could she track down the elusive feline, or would this case prove to be more than she bargained for?
