Unfortunate Adventure is a sandbox harem game with a distinctive art style. The game, which is currently under heavy development, is an adult visual novel with light RPG elements. There is no pointless grinding for stats; instead, stats affect the flavor of the text and the narrative flow. Frequent updates are planned, and the developers are hoping for your support.
v0.0.7 Public
Renderer Changes
Changed from explicitly using Compatibility to Forward+, which still defaults to Compatibility for systems that don’t support the new renderer.
Max FPS now capped at 60.
Major Changes
Sprites are being converted to Spine2D instead of flat images. Currently, only Donaciana’s Casual outfit has been switched.
Benefits: less memory usage, smaller game size, faster performance.
Spine2D will be used for animating sexy scenes in the future.
Donaciana’s dialogue for her Casual outfit has been updated to fit the new pose system.
Art & Location Updates
Added shader and parallax clouds to Sonja’s room outside view.
Painted Sonja’s room interior.
Sonja’s Room, front yard, and Kitchen are now accessible.
Bathroom door, shower, Donaciana’s Vanity, and Bookshelf can now be viewed close up.
700 words/48 lines of text for Sonja’s Room items.
240 words/36 lines of text for Kitchen items.
Code & System Updates
Reworked encounter trigger system (Kitchen uses the new system; other areas still use the old).
“Freeroam” experience revamped: clicking areas in diorama view may take you to closer views.
Optimizations added: processes/updates don’t run when unnecessary, reducing CPU usage.
GUI Updates
Main menu now has a slight flicker animation between the two current pieces of art.
Anchor page reworked: dynamic gradient background, added explanations for future content, and visual flair like a pie chart for relationships.
Stats renamed internally from Love/Hate to Friend, Lover, and Enemy.
Character sheet slightly larger for more spacing.
History panel updated with graphics and subtle shader.
Bug Fixes
Anchor screen now properly shows selected girl’s stats on first open.
Fixed missing line of dialogue in Sonja’s Kitchen scene when composure check fails.
The game will always be available for free, but the 'free version' will be updated much slower than the Patreon version and will always lack some content.
This is the page for the tech-demo, and purchasing this one will not give you the final version of the game but will still support the project. Consider it a one-time donation. But the tech-demo will eventually be updated into a 'proper demo' at some point in the future.
You can get new content early and often if you sign up at Patreon for the Early Access!
You will also get access to all 4K artwork and wallpapers through the Patreon and Subscribe stars pages. I publish art, both unrelated and game-related, bi-weekly for my Patrons.
In addition, you also get weekly updates on the progress of the game, as well as the ability to weigh in on the direction of the game and have your opinions be heard.
Extract, and run the game.
